Meet The Blog Owners: Dhores!

Well, I wanna give it to you straight about Dhores. (Pronounced Door-res, get it right or get out!) If you met her in real life, you'd probably get it twisted. The girl is petite with a sweet smile but a blunt tongue. Most people see her size and just write her off as someone to be stepped on, but oh ho ho. They are so so wrong. Stepping on Dhores is like stepping on a lego barefoot. It is just not a fun experience all around.

Dhores has more fire than a lit up gas station, and affinity for all things pretty. Even though we've been best friends since we were literally in third grade, our ideas on fashion and make up can sometimes just be...different. That's a good word for Dhores, different. She's in a league all her own. Honestly I'm like the court jester in the royal palace of fashion compared to her. She just has a more refined high fashion taste. She's eccentric, but in a way that's savvy. And although she'd probably hail me as “the make up one”, I have to say she's more on point than most bitches I have the misfortune of seeing. But I'll let her “speak for herself” because I have a couple of questions that she answered for me. I still have to spill about how I feel about what she said though, homegirl can be too modest.

How Long have you been into the beauty scene?
“Since I was like, ten.”
Oh gosh, when we were ten we were the antitheses of each other. I was definitely the definition of a scrub. I was going through my tomboy phase though. Dhores was ten steps ahead of me LOL

How would you define your style in one sentence?
“My style in theory is very glamorous, but in actuality is somewhat plainer and eclectic.”
She definitely hit the nail on the head with this. Dhores has a sense of fashion that makes me look like hobo in the middle of Grand Central Terminal. (new yorkers)

What's your favorite quality about yourself?
“My most appeal quality is my bluntness.”
Because nobody likes a fake bitch.

Who are some people you look up to beauty and fashion wise?
“Beauty wise? Anyone with a bold lip. (laughes) In all seriousness, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner. Fashion wise...Satorialist”

Why do you think you can give advice to others?
“(Laughing) Because the theoretical me is so fucking fly. Emphasis on theoretical. Since I was younger I was always into this stuff. I have a genuine love and interest for this.”
Mostly because she's hilarious and accurate at the same time, though.

What inspired you to work on this site?
I inspired her to work on this site. LOL. Alright alright here's what she said..
“I was inspired because I see a lot of people walking around looking jank.”
Simply put, she wants to transform the basic bitches of the world into boss bitches, a feat deemed impossible. However, Dhores and I don't give up easily.

What was your biggest beauty faux pas?
“7th grade. No eyeshadow base. Striaght up black eyeshadow. Cheap smudgey black crayon eyeliner. Non-waterproof mascara. Add that all together with getting caught in the rain...and you get black cheeks.”
She did the look before Taylor Momsen, ladies.
Favorite beauty look? Least favorite?
“Favorite look: bold lips, subtle eyes. Least favorite: Frosty blue eyeshadow and red lips. Why does this look continue to exist? It makes girls look like cracked out hookers”
Amen.

Final questions: What's your essential beauty product? Essential fashion peace? & Hair products too just for shits and giggles.
“Fashion? Easy. Jeans. Tight jeans. Beauty product? NYC Lipstick in Plum Rum. Hair product? Elasta QP dpr-11”
I definitely gave her the elasta QP stuff. That was kind of irrelevant, but whatever.

Well, that's a really short incite on Dhores, but obviously with her writing half the articles here you'll learn more along the way. You're gonna love her, I know I do.

Meet The Blog Owners: Marissa

Weird, child-like, judgmental, eclectic, lanky, kind, confusing, private, smiley and blunt; all fair terms to describe Marissa. As her best friend  I can biasedly say that she is amazing, but just how amazing was what I wanted to know; with all her hair makeup and fashion knowledge what else lurked underneath her cool exterior. Not much else I quickly found out, while new interests are always coming to Marissa, a constant is always present in her actions.... she’s just trying to kill it out here.

Inspired by what was going on in gyaru magazines when she was a youngster, she set out to emulate what she saw by using the best tools in her arsenal, but  tragically she had no arsenal to speak of, so instead she opted to build her knowledge (she’s  known to sit at her laptop for hours reading every review she can get her  hands on). So, as the saying comes with knowledge comes power, with  power comes... our blog naturally.

Excerpted from our interview
Q: Why do you like working with me?
A: Cause you have a lot of good idea and you're willing to work and you're just fun
Q: Why does fashion, makeup and hair light your flame?
A: Fashion, makeup, and hair "light my flame" because they're just different outlets for self expression. A lot of people dress for others, do make up for others, and their hair for others too...but I do everything for me. I do me. I used to walk around with all the eyeshadow colors in the spectrum and girls had the nerve to ask me if I did it for some dudes. I'm like LOL girl what guy do you know says he wants his bitch to have rainbows on his eyelids?
Q: How would you approach said guy in a bar?
A: Oh god. Approaching guys? I am no bueno at that. I'd probably come over with something totally amazing in mind to say and then blank on it when I get there. That is if I don't trip on the way to the dude. I would however maintain a huge smile and try to laugh. I heard people dig that lol.
Q: Why should people listen to what we have to say?
A: Because we'll tell you things that the people around you are too afraid to tell you or say.

Now that you all have seen just a tiny part of her charisma, know that if anyone dared to jock her steelo, she simply say...
